STATEMENT
I love working in black and white. About 20 years ago I began to explore a new way to use my drawings. I used the photocopy machine to expand and contract them. When I had something that spoke to me, I made direct prints onto silk. I arranged these prints to create larger drawings which were then quilted. The results, which I call toner drawings, opened up a new way to express an idea. – Joan Schulze
